Top 5 Most Anticipated Book Releases of 2020

Last edited on February 20, 2021 by Sarah Pereira

Since 2020 has just started, it seems fitting to write about some of my most anticipated book releases of the year! Though, this blog post simply doesn’t cover all of the new releases, but if you’re interested you can check out my goodreads.

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

February 25th, 2020 is when the highly proclaimed Slytherin romance novel will be published.

Tired of being overlooked and desperate for power, Alessandra comes up with a plan to captive the Shadow King, marry him, and than kill him. Although there are many people Alessandra is going up against to kill the king, she’s confident her plan will work. Until it doesn’t…

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

This Suzanne Collin’s novel will be published on May 19th, 2020, almost ten years after the Mockingjay was published.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be set 64 years before the events of the first Hunger Games novel. This prequel will revolve around the character we all love and hate: Coriolanus Snow. Click here to read an excerpt of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes!

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare

It is expected that the 1st installment in The Last Hours series will be published on March 3rd, 2020.

Throughout this book, readers will be following the grandchildren of characters in The Infernal Devices. However, as the Blackthorn and Carstairs family reunite in London, things begin to go wrong. With a mix of romance, Edwardian Era London, demons, disasters, and vivid adventures there is no reason for this book to not be on your Goodreads want-to-read pile.

Hunting November by Adriana Mather

Hunting November is the follow-up novel to Killing November that comes out on May 5th, 2020.

This book will follow our protagonist November whose skills someone would kill have. She goes on this journey to find her father, who’s currently on the run. Having to sort through lies and deceptions, November must keep in mind the limited time she has to find her father, before those who want him dead get him first.

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

On March 3rd, 2020, Sarah J. Maas will launch book one in her New Adult Fantasy trilogy: Crescent City.

This book will take place in a contemporary fantasy world with magic. Readers will follow our main character Bryce Quinlan who seeks revenge for her friends murder. But there’s a twist she’s half-fae, half-human. This book will be a combination of fantasy and romance.
